HT-MED, our name, is derived from the initials of its founder and current president, Helena Touma Bastidas, daughter of the renowned Palestinian-Ecuadorian physician Dr. Marcelo Touma Salti, who had an impeccable career in life. He became known as one of Ecuador's leading gastroenterologists. During his medical practice, he collaborated with science, earning several national and international awards and recognitions.
Thus, her daughter decided to continue her legacy in the healthcare world by joining the country's most important pharmaceutical companies.
Helena Touma began her career at Interpharm, where she gained experience in medical visits and knowledge of the pharmaceutical market in Ecuador. She later worked for several years as a district manager for the organization. She then moved on to other laboratories such as Biotoscana and Roche, where she consolidated her career and expertise. After 23 years, she took firm steps to establish her own pharmaceutical distributor, HT-MED.
Since 2015, the company has been developing new strategic alliances with its skilled team, expanding its commercial development and positioning the company as one of the best in the region.
His son, Santiago Tello Touma, has taken over the company since 2020. He currently serves as general manager, leading the company toward the forefront thanks to his knowledge of digital marketing and his experience in foreign markets.
